Starting back in '76 with the "Chuck Schmidt Memorial," " , !. 58 it has been run consistendy and smoothly as the "1000" ever since under the able direction of the Roadrunnen Motorcycle Association of Wichita Falls with thousanda of miles and houn just planning the event each year. Stepped in the tradition of the "annual Ancell Ranch Run" which "took place" here for over 12 yean in the 19501 and early '60s when Harle,. and Indians ran through the over 14,000 acres on a "secret time" finish, the Texas 1000 does the same except is hold enough to carve out a big hunk of the entire state of Taas and still finish on a secret time.
