In division two Andy Mesirno, with a 2-1 score defeated Dave Harris' 3-5 and Jerry Black's 6-4 . First moto winner Jim Whipple fell to 13th his second round and ninth overall. In one huge 250cc Novice class, 25 riders went into the race, and when it was over John Herkowitz was the winner with a 2-1 tally. First moto winner Todd MacDonald was leading the second moto as well when his Yamaha spit him off in the whoops, and he fell to eighth and fifth overall. Turner a lso topped the 125cc Pro class by ho lding off the ch a llenges by Dea n Ca tes who kept the gas on his Suzuki and the pressure on Turner. Yama ha rider Bob Marino decided the O pen Pro contest wit h a 3-1 score after early leader Snorteland ran out of gas on his YZ465. Snorteland jumped into the early lead in the 250cc Pro class with Yamaha rider Tim Lunde running second as the pack stretched ou t through lap one. Ed Arnet had his YZ on th e pipe and holding down third as Yamaha rider Craig Gormley and Turner argued over fourth place. Eric MacCracken had gotten off the line in 15th place but was soon charging through the packand by lap four had moved his Yamaha into fourth place. A lap later and .he was past both Hardick. who had moved up from 10th, and Arnet and was putting the pressure on Snorteland. Snorteland and Mac Cracken went head to head for six laps before 'Ma cCracken found a way into the lead which he he ld to the ch eckers . Snorte land finished second and T urner crossed the line in third a head of Hardick and Arnet. Mo to two gate timing honors again went to Snorteland as he wheeled into the lead ahead of Turner, MacCracken, Gormley and Hardick. Turner blasted into the front running position as the pack completed lap three and Hardick put the mov" on Gormley on the following go-round. Turner slowly built himself a safe lead 'as the moto came to an end , leaving Snorteland and Hardick to battle over second with the nod going to Snorteland.
