Fred Dion of Boss Motocross d id a fine job 38 of la ying out what this write r would ca ll " real Eu ropean motocross" on th e hills at Carneg ie . The track had some thi ng for all - . fast uphills, off-camber turns. good na tu ra l j~ m ps. sweepi!lg grassy turns. a good stair-step downhill; in short , a very demanding race trac k that cha llenged every body that rode it. Boss MX also proved to everyone that they could control the dust under hot . dry conditions. This track had access roads so that the water truck ca n accommodate all parts of the track . Dion promises a good schedule. of AMA District 56 motocross races nght on through the yea r . Ron Combs, riding out of B & T Kawasaki of Sacramento, took both 250 and Open Expert honors on a pai r of fast green machines . In the 250cc event. Rodney Sm ith (Yam) rode a very efficie nt ra ce to gar~er the fi~st m oto win aft er some very Int en se d iein g with fa st -im p ro ving Larry Colem an .
