............................. Hollenbeck hauls at IVMC D-38 HS By loretta Pipkin BURRO BEND, CA, OCT. 14 Husky-mounted Randy Hollenbeck romped to victory in the Imperial Valley M.C. 60 mile scrambles. A new rugged course was set up in the State Vehicular Park near Burro Bend, in southeastern San Diego county. Hollenbeck led all four of the 15 mile loops. The night before the race strong winds blew down a lot of course markers, making a parade lap necessary. A lot of grumbling went on, but after a good race with only two minor injuries all were saying how neat it was. Hollenbeck's average time was 21 minutes; his fastest lap being the second one which he did in 19 minutes. Leon Livingston did not make it easy for Hollenbeck - he was right on his tail and within a minute till the third go 'round. Livingston got out of the pits late and Hollenbeck was smokin' it to a three minute spread. Dale Stevenson and Bill Carr were dicing it for third and fourth. Carr got past Stevenson, keeping third overall the rest of the way. Roger Adsit, Dennis Stevens, Craig Gorda and Jim Valov were. having their own race. Adsit was fighting a bent rim and Corda was sneaking up. Into home check Corda took founh and Stevens was ruth overall. Senior rider Bruce Cornell stayed right with the hotshoes taking his class and seventh overall. Joe Patterson took home the gold in the Senior Amateur class after limping off his bike with what turned out to be a severe charley horse 'in his thigh. Declining aid he piped, "All I really need is a drink of water." The 250cc Novice class is picking up some new riders. Roccy Tuggle got the win and 12th ave all for his efforts. The State Rangers were great to all the racers with much help as well as being interested in the race. How's that for a treat? Only the WORKS SUPERCROSSER gives you progressive damping with :5 separate adJustments that effect damping. ADJUSTABLE COMPOUNDED DUAL OR TRIPLE RATE SPRINGS. "crossover" spacer allows 1 Only WORKS offers apoint of transfer fromsystem that rate to you to select the exact one spring the next throughout the full stroke of the shock. And, yes, we lise springs, because air, being temperature sensitive, has not, cannot and will never perform as well as a spring. ADJUSTABLE PRESSURE NITROGEN BLADDER SYSTEM. Because the WORKS SUPERCROSSER uses a large diameter piston with high volume valve capacity, oil pressure remains low. The flow of 011 between bOdy and reservoir can then be left unmetered, so that the nitrogen bladder can be pressure adjusted to effect the damping characteristics of the piston. THE WORKS PERFORMANCE PROCRESSIVE DAMPINC SYS· TEM. Most other shocks use awave-washer valvlng principal. we use progressive valvlng. Damping adjustability Is Infinite because in each piston there Is a separat~ orifice or spring loaded ball check valve for each function: rebound, IO~ medium & high speed. Selective damping change~ are affecteo by varying the size of hO.les and/or spring pressure. This gives you almost Infinite tuning capabilities to adapt the shock absorber's low, medium and high speed damping cycles to your specific motorcycle and riding requirements. You get a shock absorber that works. At any speed. Over the widest possible variety Of terrain. Perfectly.
