E Peterson dominates CltC OCIRMX By Tom Corley IRVINE, CA, JUNE 8 Todd Peterson is out to be Continental Moto-sports Club number one and if he continues to win the way he did tonight at OCIR this feat could come true. The DG Performance Specialties racer had no problem in the 125cc Pro class, which was the second event of the eight race schedule. Last week's winner, Rick johnson was gone, so Todd breezed through the first and second moto in front of Orange County Suzuki rider Randy Skinner. Rick Atkins on a R&D Racing Engines Suzuki battled Mark Denning all night aJ?d beat him out for the third place win. We weren't too sure that there was going to be a second 125cc Pro moto, because as they were taking off, the track lights blew out. There was quite a delay, the track crew switched circuits and the bright lights allowed them to run a second molO. An even more profitable race for Petel}On was the 250cc Pro event, where a few more entries beefed up the purse slightly. In the top position there was no contest as Todd led by a good length. But there was quite a struggle for the next three places. Tim Lunde placed 5-2 and had some trouble with Scott johnson, who beat him out in the first moto. But in the final nce, Lunde was on top, which gave him the second place cash award and this was his last OCIR race for a while, because he will finally be leaving for a Tahitian . racing tour. johnson won the third place money and had a competitive race with Ty Richey whom he passed while going over the huge.jump. Don Draskovich, on a Can-Am, managed to gain fourth over Richey, Scott Kinnier and Vince Van Hook. Tim Wood of Ammex had his fun last week 'as he won the 250cc junior class. However, tonight a smaller rider by the name of Ranney Slavens (Suz) gave him the competition that he needed. Woods got the jump in the ftrSt mota, while Slavens (Suz) who had "Good-Bye" on the seat of his leathers was right behind . .Frank Grangetto was in third. In the second moto Slavens turned it around and holeshot the race. He flew over the jump by the score tower and almost got out of control on his big Suzuki. Woods wasn't able to pass, so he had to grit his teeth and let the small ace take the final win. Overall it was Slavens who claimed the first place trophy over Woods, john Blair, Frank Grangetto and Dale Hirsch. Results ~ MINI JR: ,. Chris Sparks IKawl; 2. Pete Loncarevich (Yaml; 3.
