'with new winners in both the Scr atch and Handicap Main events. Leni Faas , now in first division . won the Handicap Main event. staying out in front of a closely -b unched pack. Phi l Gagnon a nd Br ad Ox ley each too k a shot a t the lead . and Faas was hard pu t in the closi ng la ps to main tain the lead . He won the event and then ha d the chance to become th e second rider this season to tak e both Main events. Ala n Ch ristia n bein g the first. . Leni had never been in a . first d ivision Scratch race before . He was not the firs t one off th e starting line. nor was he th e last. He di d have the lead for a few feet wh en Gen e W oods and Da ve Sim s m oved ou t wide wit h Mike Bast as th e pack ca me back to the inside po le. Le n i gave way to the superstars and spe nt the next three laps getting a close loo k at their skill. Woods aga in went to the ou tside as Sims and Ba st stayed rig ht on th e po le. Sims had the lead a nd when the checkered flag ca me ou t it was Da ve Sims first. Mi ke Bast second . Gene Woods third and Len i Faas fou rt h .
