Dickerson's first ride since Orland last fall proved he had not lost the winning combination even after a layoff. Expert action this weekend featured the fifth big 250cc win in a row for that black Can-Am of Kim Jorgensen at Newman while Richard Arnaiz returned from an impressive second in the Daytona Novice road race to win a versatile main at Pioneer Sunday. Johnny Pittman broke Dwayne McCaslin's win string in the 360cc Saturday while Mark Key won another impressive 500cc main over National riders Jim Mertens and Ricky Graham. Alan McGehee also moved more securely on the gold and black plate lists by topping Dennis Spence in the 500cc at Pioneer Sunday. In Mini Expert action Aaron Hill was the big point grabber but Kurt Chandler won the premier main as he topped a 16-rider field at Newman. Kurt's brother Doug suffered bike failure on the first lap and the ensuing crash took out Chris Carr as well . Kurt capitalized in excellent style and held off a hard-charging Hill for the win. Kurt also won the 100cc main several minutes later over Shawn Black. Doug Chandler followed to double both mains with easy wins at Oakdale Sund ay. H ill also finished second Sunday , on the Spinelli's Kawasaki , and moved to within one point of Chris Carr in the battle for number one , Action continues in the valley in coming weeks with one final quartermile at Newman and then' moving to Saturday night and Sunday short track at Lodi's Cycle Bowl and Oakdale respectively . Key and Mattocks win first Pasco MX By PatJaquish PASCO , WA, MAR. 12 A brand new motocross facility opened for racing this week with nearly 130 riders competing on a very long, sandy course, which became very rough . with . beautiful berms developing in most of the corners. The first l25cc Pro class gassed it down the starting hill with Dennis Ostriern (Suz) taking the lead . Kenny New (Suz) was involved in a terrible crash as he bumped another rider and was . sent flying head over heels. Ostriem fell on the first lap, giving Jeff Anderson (Hori) the lead which Art Key (Suz) quickly took over, never to be headed. Brett Tremblay (Suz) put on a fantastic come from behind performance to finish second with David LaPierre (Kaw) third. Kenny New attempted to make up for his first moto endo and led the pack in the second moto after one lap. Following New were Anderson, Ostriem, Sandy Jaquish (Yam) , Key, Tremblay, and LaPierre. Tremblay and Ostriern had bike problems which slowed them down, but LaPierre picked off riders one at a time to take the lead and finally the win. Art Key placed second after a consistent ride . for first overall. LaPierre received second overall with his 3-1 finishes. The 250cc Pro class was a study in total . inconsistency as most riders either crashed or had bike problems, throughout the day . Mike Czebotar (Kaw) led the first for eleven laps but unfortunately , the moto was twelve laps long. John Mattocks (Suz) was able to catch Czeborar when he tired .
