Johns , meanwhile , got locked into a leather rub bing' con test wit h W hiting as t hey parlayed around th e first la p bu t a third rider hit W hiting on his b lind side knocking him into th e nags which gO! hung up on his bik e and cost him valuable time in the tangle. Hackman , running in last place , passed Whiting while he was tied up and Whiting , CUlling himself loose , was quick to fa ll in behind . For the second tim e th e pa ir raced from the rear clear to th e from of the lin e . Johns was in first but Hackman made it home secon d, taking third overall , and Whiting fin ished third for the second place money. Arden Hadley took first overa ll in the 250cc Pro race . Holding true to the form of the day's winners he sta rted last and climbed the ladder 10 win . Like H ackm a n , he handicapped himself further st ill by running th e first mo to with no from brake.
