Mark Tomaselli came soaring through to close ground on Gentry, when Gentry went do wn in the ess. Knipe had good control of second, bu t couldn't catch the fleeing T om aselli. Nelinger kept his wheel in front of Ronnie Everso le to finish third , wh ile Eversole p ut some track bet wee n himself and pursuers Rick J ura do , Jason Wagner and J ohn Gersjes. T omaselli was presented with the "su per" tro p hy at the en d of the ten la p fin al. The J u nior Cycle Experts fire d off th e line with Tim Tom aselli in the lead. A bike length behind was J ey Sap p . Buddy Dumo was bei ng pressed by David Seekins , until he lost contro l of third in the ess. W hen T omaselli took a tu m ble , Sapp was righ t there to take over and win the moto . T he second time , Sapp rocketed ' around in complete control. Du mo m anag ed to stay in seco nd for a few la ps, as Seekins plott ed his way to a fi nal wheel -to -wheel confronta tion before taking over second . Eddie Cole captures two at AMEnightMX By Lee Taylor VA LENC IA , CA , MAY 5 Edd ie Cole (Kolbe C -A) started a nig ht-long victory rid e at America n Motocross Enterprises' India n D u nes nig h t m otocross with back-to-back wins in the 250 cc Pro class, a nd then retu rned la ter for a clean sweepin the 500cc Pro class. For th e 250cc Pros , Cole started off the even ing in the lea d with Dave Vicioso in second. T he who le ra ce was a Can-Am /Suzuki battle with Kolbe's Can -Am s holding fou r of th e top posi tions , egged on by Doug Nicol ridi ng the Cole Bro thers Suzuki. Nicol started off in t hird wit h a drag race taki ng place be hind him between teamma tes C raig Co le and Paul La ne. These two continued on around the track wheel to wheel , with Cra ig Cole fina lly edging ahead. T hroug h m ost of th e m oto Vicioso was fighti ng for his life as well as Can-Am 's honor, in hold ing Nicol behind , b ut by the time th e checkered flag ca me out Vicioso was pu she d back to fo urth and Cra ig Cole had slipped up behind his brot he r Ed di e to hassle him for the lead . Ed di e held steady dow n to the wir e with Craig holding second and Nicol ta king third . T he second time off th e line N icol's Suzuki edged out th e Can-Ams by ta king cha rge up the hill with Lane in second a nd a battle be tween th e Cole brot hers for thi rd . Eddie Cole took over th e lead with Nicol still very m uch in second and Craig Cole staying right on top of him in th ird . Cra ig Cole, coming u p fast alongsid e Nicol , eased him ou t a nd sett led into seco nd as Nicol , fig ht ing back , had La ne righ t on his ta il down to th e wire. Coming home, Eddie Co le took home top mo ne y, brother Cra ig collected second pl ace loot an d thi rd went to Nicol. In th e 125cc Pros, it was J ohn O 'Mara's nig h tl T her e was just no stopping him as he scooped up a pair of ba ck-to-back wins aboard a Suzuki for Al Ba ker. O'Mara sta rted off by-gra bbing the lead out fro m u nder Edwin Arnet and ho lding him to second t hroughout the moto. Arnet had Rod Robert son hot on his tail in third and managed to hold him th er e to the end . T he start of the second moto was a n instant replay for O 'Mara and Arnet, on ly this tim e th ey had J immy Crowder (Suz-Suzuki Sport Center) crowding th em in third . T owa rds the end of the moto .O'Mara , who was way ou t in front , went down in front of th e tower , made a flying remount a nd maintained his lead bu t allowed Arnet to close ground. O 'Mara maintained cont ro l and crossed the line for the over a ll' win , with Arnet tak ing second overa ll and thi rd going to Crowder. Results 100 BEG: 1. Chris M el f IYam}.
