Hannah racked up his 10 h t . h " hi t S Talg t race w~n sll!ce is D a llas Su percross victorres, as he dominated both motos at Rio Bravo Cycle Pa rk in the third round of the AMA/Mr. Pi BB 250cc National MX Series. 8 Teammate Brae Glover tried to give the Yamaha camp another clean sweep this week , but a jumped start in the opening 125cc moto left Brae with a one lap penalty that couldn't be mad e up. Even without the penalty- it , was q uestionable that Broc could have caug ht a charging Mark Ba rnett who posted his first Na tio nal win for Team Suzuki wit h the Ma rk Johnso n wrenched RA-125 -78 racer. 125cc National " I didn't think I jumped the gate. I fee l terrible!" moaned AMA 125cc National Champion Broc Glover after the first moto incident. Glov er was caught along with Danny Chandler in running the gate , and b~th w.ere penalized a lap. Brae went with hIS holeshot and led. ~alfwa y around the first lap before bailing off. " My front end washed out ," Glover explained lat er . Suzuki's Brian Myerscough inherited the lead ahead of Ga ylon Mosier. Mark Barnett, Marty Moates , Warren Reid a nd Glover who was back up on two wheels ahead of Steve Wise. Wise was nursing a sprained ankle suffered in the previous week 's National in southern Calfiornia. Within five laps Glover had left the field in his wake as he slammed back up front to retake the lead (albeit a penal ized lap down). He ma in ta ined a stronghol d on first Over Myerscough as the other Tea m Suzuki rookie , Ma rk Barn ett moved up to join the ruc kus . Ba rn ett soon caught hIS teammate and was closing on Glover. "T his new works bike feels good . It 's fast and it handles. I followed Broc for a lap and then just zapped himl" sa id Ba rn ett after the race . Zap him he did as Barnett took the lead and th e win on the last lap.
