Leadi ng off the day's ac tion were th e Micro Minis with Keith Foyti k's Ital Jet taking the overall ahead of _ the Suzukis of Dennis LeBoeu f and Mike Michet ree, The Mini Junior race saw Carrol Richardson on a Suz uki holding on to the win over Mike Caskey (Suz) and Da ryl LeBoeuf(Yam ). Yamaha rider Bucky Houston cleaned up on the Mini Senior class, with Craig Rid dle (Suz) second and Ma rk Dawson (Suz ) third . Suzuki riders swept the 100cc A class. Da rin Eames ca me in for t he win followed by Ken Joh nson and Ma rk Clark . , . Action in the 100ce B cla ss was provid ed by winner Ronald Dawson (Suz) and sec o nd and th ird pla ce riders David Myres and Mike Pierce , bot h on Yamahas. The 125cc Novice class had so many e ntries t h ey we re . sp li t into two divi sions, Division One winner was Ra ndy. Henshaw (Yam ), followed by Olie J ones (Ya m ) and Ronni e Parker (Su z). Division Two honors went to Yamaha riders Tony N ielsen , first , Mike H a n ce , secon d, and Ra ndy Mansell th ird , . Eddie W a lke r , Scan O 'Brie n a nd David Jones, a ll rid ing Suzuki s, fou ght for th e lead . In t he second moro Da vid J one: shifted into high gear and bea t Wa lker and O ' Brien, but wirh a 3-1 score had to sett le for second be hi nd W alk er's J2 finish . O ' Brien was third . Ma ico rider Bob by Pickard won both 250cc Expert mot os, but not wit hou t a figh t fro m Da vid Stutts on a Ya,!,a ha , and Da vid Boles rid ing a MalCO. Stu tts a nd Boles both ma de cha rges at t he lea d b ut co u ld n't hold t hr- pace and event ua lly faded hack . Pickard finall y got Boles a nd th e finishi ng ord er was Pickard . Boles a nd Stutts. Pickard wasu-d no time grahbing th e lead in the secon d moto but Boles was right on his rail . wait ing for mistak e that never ca me. For the seco nd tim,' tha t dav Picka rd won rh ' overal l but this tim,: Boles took second and Stutts was t hird . Raccd av ended with a mad Dash for Cash. Fifty dollars went 10 th e win ner with three laps to do it. Only a e~ riders went for it but it was wild anyway as Picka rd crashed in the first lap a~d J ones on his 125 p ut on a despera te lasr-Iap cha rge that nearl y sent hi m into the scoring sta nd . David Boles held on a nd fina lly got rhe win he was looking for a ll d ay.
