************ To mmy De nnis was the A cla ss champ at the Sunf lower Enduro. Exh ib ition class. Tom Hairston arid Mike Jones had chains on their Jack Wilson (Big D Triumph) 1000cc Triumphs. Henry Polley also thought that chains might help his _750 Triumph negotiate the hill . Chandler had a little trouble with his Honda and the best he could do was a 6:86 second run. Polley was the first out of the hole with chains in the second round but he was still shaken up from a bad spill on his 500 Yamaha and just could not get it all together. Chandler was next on his Triumph and boy! Did he look good going up the hil1l When the dust had cleared timekeeper Louis Lachney was calling for help to read the clock . Ch an d ler had edged Alford out by one hundredth of a secondwith a time of 6:62 seconds. While he was watching Hairston and Jones on thei r triples , Chandler said that that was a ll his Triumph had , it wouldn't have gone any faster. The two 1000s did better on their second try , but not good enough Chandler went home on top . One thing about a rough hill: everyone ha s troubles and has to work ~thcir g~d . • Results in Results Section. I~ B " rider Greenall wins Sunflower Enduro By Jeanie Flippin TOPEKA , KS, APR . 3 The second event on the 1977 Black Jack Enduro Circuit , the Sunflower Enduro, was won by a " B" rider , Bob Greenall. Greenall, recen tly an ob served trials competitor, zeroed all four chec ks on his Bultaco Alpina . Several other riders also zeroed the enduro but Gr eenall had the best time at the tie breaker check . The run was 66 mi les at 24 m .p.h. With the short mileage a nd the fast average , the first riders -were finished at II :4 5 a .m . T he co u rse was c o m p r ise d of som e good woods se ct ions link ed tog ether by plenty of roads.
