(THA) members worked it over Sunday morning. It was interesting to watch riders taking off angled across the hill. Two groups from Iowa came down to thaw out in the 75-degree Texas weather. A ll of them but Maris Massengill were having troubles after not riding since October. Ma ris showed how to do it . She rid es a 175 Bu l and a 'newly tricked -out 750 Triumph . In th e 175 class sh e had two very good rid es with times of 8: 52 and 8:5 3 seconds and it look e d like she might get fir st , but Norris Meeks twea ked his throttle just a hair more to ea k ou t a 8: 51 seco nd ride for first. Ma ris was having . a litt le trouble ge ll ing us e d to th e extra 100ce added to he r Triumph . but she st ill came o u t wit h a second. It looked like the top time was goi ng to a sma ll bi ke whe n t he " big boys ' sta rt ed ha ving a littl e tr oubl e ha nd lin g th e ro ugh hill.
