- ...... . , 1-4 . 0.. < ClLIIDlBj 1 _ -:---. What' s happen ing? The first chec k was at the end of th e first 12 m .p.h. section and was a tiebreak er. T he clu b wanted the rid ers to come in righ t a t 30 seconds (pe rfect score) because the next section was balls-to -the-wall up Miller's J eep T rai l a t a very fast 24 m.p.h. No one zeroed that ch eck . One point lost was th e best. The next section was back to a nice and ea sy 13 m .p.h, average which took th e riders down scenic Snowy T rail , which will be the subject of a erosion control rebuild by volunt eer motorcyclists in the next few weeks . Snowy is a favorite of many and still had a little bit of the white stuff for which it is named on it. After a check at the bottom, it was boogie to the finish of the first loop and preparation for the second loop . The second loop st art ed down the same goat trail as the first loop at the same average. But this time the check wasn't at the end of the section, it was devilishly hidden around a slight bend just before a tight section. Clever. The ' check reportedly caught over 40 riders early (Including your report er by on e second . . . Ed) . At the bottom of the tr ai l. the course turned right from the morning loop a nd headed towards Frazier Park . A rocky jeep road caused a few pro b lems. Team Montesa 's R oy Sh eridan tasted a roc k as he .went down ha rd, but luckily wasn 't hun. A che ck made sure everyone was timekeeping , then th e cou rse turned on to a good fireroad looping back to the Pi ru Creek area. Anoth er ch eck to make su re th e "gam blers" weren 't ru nning hot, an d then int o the creek. Wha t a sect ion - water crossings , big rocks, sa nd. It was tough. Overa ll win ne r Boller on his 175 Penton, second overall T orn Getz frid (500 Yam), Ron Fry (Yarn) and Steve Keull (Oss). Getzrid and Fry are locked in a battle for 0 -37 Number One Senior. Two of the four rider who zeroed the tough check were Seniors . In fact three of th e top six overall were in the 40 and over bunch. Not too bad at all . Dist rict 37 Vice President Ron Hall decided to try his luck at a rare en duro appearance and was having fun until he feel off on e of the goat trails. H e got back up but lost 18 m inutes doing so, He was a little sh aken but still claims he ha d fun . • Unofficial results I. Dale Boller 2·15 IPenl. 2. Tom Getzfrid 2·16 IYaml. 3.
