Mid-Ohio Trans-AMA passed h im . Frost had finished second to R ob Norgaard (Kaw) in the first moto with ~l aple in third. A visitor from Oran ge County racing , A aron Bassett (l lus), had the lead from th e sta rt in th e seco nd 250 Pro m oto and held it to the fini sh alth ough Mike Steams (Hus) was pressuring o n th e Iin al tw o laps. Mik e T ripes (Ya m) bumped Stearns while attempting to p ass late in th e first lap, cau sing him to fall, but he recovered during th e next lap and went o n to finish third. The 125 Pro class ran w it h the 250s but they we ren't greatly outclassed as Randy Hess (Fr-IFJ and Terry Shekel] (Hon) diced for third overall in the first moto. Mike Tidwell, still walkin g around with a limp from his broken leg, showed no handicap wh atsoever. Mounted on one of his well tuned Yamah as, he left n o doubt in a ny o ne's mind that he is well on his way ·to full recovery. Mike rode five and won five wh ich m akes fo r a mi gh ty fin e av erage, Tidwell sta rted with th e 125 Expert TT. _During th e sem i it looked as if Fred Conov er was go ing to topple th e kin g as he came o ff with a co m mand ing lead and held it t he whole way. Rob came back on the half mile, to show Gary how it wa s done, as he cam e up with the victory. Dona ld Wood, whose o nly claim to fam e; at Corona was that he broke every tim e he came out, transferred his jinx to everybody else and hit for two winning the 250 Novice Half l\l ile and th e Open Novice Half Mile.
