_._._._._._._._._.. and by the end of the day, all tho se Japanese mechanics you've seen at th e local races were displaying plenty of grins and smiles. You guessed it , T ea m Suzuki has scored again. The team's two new est yo ung hopefuls,Jeff Jenning and Robert Elliot swooped up everything there was to swoop up with their fac to ry machines. How hot are the ne w bikes? "I'm in love with m ine " replied Jennings. No wonder J eff digs his new mounts. They carried h im to vict ori es in both the 125 and 250 Pro. J eff and Miller Mana mounted Dave Williams had a terrific dice go in g the first 125 Pro mota with the pair in ches apart the entire length of the race. Jeff went for an inside pass a t the last turn, got into some loose stuff and lost it . " I co uld 've passed Williams bu t my clu tch was slipping the whole race ." With a new clutch in pla ce , Jennings proceeded to roost on the pack the second mota . The second 250 Pro mo ta pr oved to be just as boss as the first 125 mo ta . At first it looked like a ditto of mota one with Elliot out to a q uic k lead with J en nin gs and Maico ace , Jeff Vidic hanging back in second and third. Only this time around Jeff was chewing away at Robert's lap time. Each lap found th e aggr essive racer closer to Elliot until Jeff finally laid a pass on his teammate a fter nearly 30 minu tes of kee ping everyone guessing. Vidic pulled his Wheelsmith Maico in for third place money with consistent 3·3 rides. The smooth, co ntrolled Elliot didn' t go home without win money though as the well-mannered Suzuki ace latched on to the 500 Pro win, leading every lap of both motos. Ro bert was cranking. Carrera and Pepsi sponsored KTM shoe, Jeff Foland, overcame sa-so starts to notch second overall after 2-2 rides behind Elliot.. Jeffs dad, on the Pepsi deal : "Pepsi decided to give it a try and see how things go, so we sure could use some pl ugs in Cycle News!" You got it. • Results in Results Section.
