Spence r Cal-Expo, June 25 • With over 40 riders ready for bear at th e place that started the NorCai speedway operation, the racing was bound to be tough bu t the track proved to be the toughest part of the operation. The firs t Handicap heats put a stop to MacMurray's effort when he shut it down in the first comer wi th a wall of dust in fron t of him. The racing was held up u n til the sun disa ppeared. Once it did, the water in the ground re appeared an d the rest of the night went with only minor difficulties. Charlie Mors e be at out Greg Ferguson in the first heat while Terry Baugh hel d off Dennis " Cha o-cha o " Ro binson in the second. Orlandi inspected the track before the th ird event and found the right line, the very spectacular outside. He took home some back yard m on ey for that win while things settled down in the fourth with Mike Faria winning over Cliff Ball and Ron McGill. Track co nditions were such that the man up front had the best chance an d it was a fast J ohn Cook who took the Main ave. Robins on and Orlandi. Barclay Trehal returned to the racing scen e with some sty le winning his Scratch heat and then losing th e Semi by inches to Orlandi who is definitely t he crow d 's favorite . Barclay came back in the Main to hold off Looney Mike Ro oney for the bigee, Mi ke Cannon too k th e n od in the Division II Main after a nasty heat crash an d a sore shoulder.
