Mota Two saw Mi ke Sturdivan t (Ya m) pick off one man af te r ano the r (incl ud in g , Hall who succu mbed to mechanical problems) and finish ed his ra cing day wi th 6-3 wins for fourth overal l. With Hall, unfortunately out of the wa y, Powell surged forward and dared anyone to tr y to take second away (in cl ud in g Sturdivant), and in doing so, Po well's 4-2 brought second overall. For Mo ta ONe, mini-biker Clay Cauthorn (Ya m ) whipped expertly thro ugh the firs t tu rn slush hole and took an early lead with Fr ank Tello close at his heels. Taking a bit more time and patiently instigating the trouble spots, Kexl Kid J De Davis (Ya m ) held tight to third, leaving J aime Killion (Yam) with a secure fourth. Mota Two created disappointment for Cauthorn who took a slow start off the gate and was unable to meet Tello's surge to first. Cauthorn fini shed the day with 1· 3 wins an d second overall. Tello, knowing he had this mo ta safely u nder his hel met (and first overall with 2-1 ), could be see n periodically glancing over his shoulder just fo r sec urity. • Results in Results Se ction.
