Waller's drive ended when his chain broke. With Delno long gone in the lead, the racing centered on the runner-up position as Sisler and John Caldwell had a little dice going. Caldwell passed Sisler for second using a slower rider for interference. Ken Sisler tried to give chase but his h andlebars developed a case of the droops. Arnold Plant had to wor k for his win in the 250 Expert clas s. Yamaha mounted Bill Swartz nabbed the early lead in the first moto with Bay area rider, J . P. Morgan (Yam ) in second. A few laps into the moto Plant got the lead with Swartz holding on to second and Dan Waller doing double duty today, third. Gene McKenzie gassed his GP Husky in to th e first turn ahead of everyone else to start the second round. J. P. Morgan once again held second only to fade ba ck as the race progressed. Arnold soo n disposed of McKenzie and was on his way for the victory. Waller passed McKenzie in the late stages of the race for second overall, dropping Gene to third. AI Hall had an easier time in the small 125 Expert class, never really being pressured by anybody. Kenny Boswell, in his first Expert ride, too k second overall ahead of Scott J o hnso n . • Results in Results Section. Easter at La Grange By R. D. Woods The p rogram was run off very smoothly and everyone went home early to enjoy the rest of the holiday. Doug Chan dler (Yam) and J im Cunningham (Ya m) took the honors in the 80cc Expert class, Scott Baker (Yam), J eff Maso n (Su z) an d AI Haner (Suz) to o k all the tr ophies in the 10 0cc Mini Expert class. Steve Orozco recently re turned to racing and was very impressive in h is 10 0cc Novice win. The new RM 125s are making their presence known. Novices Terry Adams and Monte Latif took the first two places on their new machines. Mark Farrister kept the Yamaha name in the picture by taking third. J im Fee (Hon), although young and promising, decided to quit scrambles racing and pursue other ventures. He finished his car eer with a win in the 250cc Novice class. Alan McGehee (Bul) had an excellent start an d led the 250cc Ex perts until midway in the race when Mike Jennings (e-A) made a powerful pass and went on to win . Ted Davidson once again had a decisive win in the Ope n Expert event. Far back the re st of the pack had an interesting race with Rick Woods finally getting seco n d. • Results in Resul ts Section. McKenna, Cantaloupi double their fun LA GRANGE, CAL., APRIL 18 The faithful came to La Grange, the very young to particip ate in an Easter egg hunt, and then everyone on to racing. Murl Mills wanted the da y off and Larry Heaton didn't h ave anything to ride so he assumed the st arter duties.
