And 350 of them brought motorcycles. As usual, the course was deeply plowed and smoothed, but after an hour of p ract ice , it was a killer. Ridd le (Hus) battled in fro nt of a large Over 3 0 gro up, wi th L.D. o n on top after a spirited set of motes, After racin g only a few months, Lewisville 's Mike Hawthorne (Suz) is really get t ing in the old groove, today goi ng 2·1 to win the 100 class over Eddy Pat e (1·3) and Chuck Taylor (3-2). The 76 125 Novices produced two cle ar divis ion winners in J ack Egbers (Hon) and Jimmy Jones (Suz), but we had to notice an amazing last-to-second pl ace cha rge by Ricky Yale [Hon] in th e sec o nd race of Division II, backing up his ftrst moto for a 2-2 score.
