Russ Eide p icked up some ABC leathers after his two moto swee p of the 100 Junior class. Lye Babi gave Eide some competition durin g the first moto , finishing a strong second only to drop to 19th in the fmal round. With Babi way bac k, th is gave Russ Eide an easy Mike Vada tries his hand at rid in' instead of writin ' at Saddleback. second m oto victory . Fo llo wing Eide in the overa ll was Allen Fox (Suz) and Honda mounted Quinton Taylor . Ma ico pilot, Curt Arnsaiger led the 5l!0 J un ior fmal fro m st art to fin ish, han dling his German machine well, leaving Ken Feulner and J im Berry to have it ou t for the second place Bell Helme t prize. Feulner got second and a Motostar hel met while Berry collected a Bell Helmet bag and th ird overall. The rider to wat ch in the 250 Intermediate final was Alex Collins. Alex came from sixth to grab third on the last lap and pressured Rick Rasm usso n (Hus) for second. Alex ran out of tim e so he p ut an all-out attempt on Rick in the . last co mer, wide-open with both feet off the pegs . The p ass failed and Alex got a hel met bag for his last ditch attempt. Thad Friday avoided • all th is by bei ng way up front.
