This unfortunate incident put him out of the running for a decent position in the race, By Sharon Green DUNLAP, CAL., OCT. 5 Another successful race was chalked up at Dunlap MX Sunday, and what a race for the 125 Expert/Pro riders. Dennis Brand (Hus), a lo cal rider who is getting faster each race, got the holeshot in moto one, and shot off like a bullet. Dennis was makin' it fast, and by the third lap of the one and one-half mile track, he was one-half lap ahead of the second place rider. But he repeated a performance given in his last Dunlap race, when his tire went fla t. The win went to Milan Garrett (Mon) and second to Pat Barnett (Ho n) . Afte r fixing his tire, and rim lock, that had cost h im the first race, he charged out in the second moto and won by a landslide. Even so, he didn't co llect one cen t of the cash. Dennis will never forget his S120 flat. Hotshoe Scott Karl (Hon), started in the middle of the pack and picked off riders one at a ti me to take over second.
