Rich MacMurray to o k an early lead with Dale St etler and George Carter in close pursuit while th e U.S. Champ got off the lin e in fourth . While MacMurray was on his way fo r his fourth Scratch Main win her e , Steve Bast ran WFO for the four laps to fmish n umber two with the last two places going to Dale Stetler an d Geo rge Carter. Pro vin g that ni ce guys don 't always finish last , J ay DeBe aubien led start to finis h to win th e Handicap Main ahead o f Dennis Robinson and Mike Faria. Much credit goes to Jay for the help he has given many of the riders this ye ar. This includes fr ame an d fork repairs, parts, fu el and witho ut him , many of th e riders wo uld h ave h ad to d o the always expensive " sear ch in g, " Another clas s 'C' rider th at is making very good progress in the Sp eed way ranks, Kirt Tardiff p u t in five sm ooth laps to win his first 0.2 Main here. From his 20 yard starting spot, Butc h Corder won h is first Handicap Main of the NorCal season. Following his win at Cal Expo the nigh t before, Kirt Tardiff made it two wins in two n igh ts by winnin g to nigh t 's 0.2 feature ahead of Dave Myers an d Mike Faria.
