Stankavich o f the Sand Sailors, September 20 & Z1 hung on to his 250 Suzuki and twisted his throttle harder for first overall Novice. W. Roth took second while G. Evans outrode an d out-lasted th e rest of the 175 No vices 'for a first in t his class . In th e Trail Novic e class, Gre g Hatzenb uhler of th e Sp o ke Ben ders, and, Gary Williams of th e Desert M C had q uite a battl e. Williams had the lead . until his pipe fell o ff and he go t a flat, an d that is wh en Hatzenbuhler to ok over the lead. Mitc h Mayes says it is his new gloves, while Kevin Hasten said it is the fact that he is getting married to Sue Phillips on February the firs t.
