Cliff Hylton (Yam ) jumped t o a ea rl y lead a t the s ta rt of th e event with Eskew and the rest o f the pa ck following cl o se behi nd . Then o n Lap Three Hylton high sided in the second corner . cau si ng a restart. Jim Hubbard ( Ya m) and Eskew the n ba t tled for th e lead with both ride rs making m istakes as they ro de. The two ride rs c on tin ued t o lead as th ey slid wi d e in t he turns, falling out o f the groove . A t the finish it was Eskew get ti ng h is fir st w in of th e season . fo llowed by H ubbard and Ste ve Die tz (Coo ) riding a 250 fo r the firs t time this season. Bruce Koistinen (Bu l) too k home Iw o first place tr ophi es tonigh t with his victories in the 200 'ovic (' Main an d in the 200 lIandicap. In the Ha n di ca p , Ko istinen led from st art 10 fin ish , with A llen Jones a close se cond after ge lli ng by RonJuney. The pattern fo r most ra ces was: w ho ever led the first tum won th e ev e nt. T hai pattern held true in the 25 0 Novice Scrat ch :'Iain. With highpoint leader Paul Meyer sitting the night out. Mike Hall was ab le to take t he win as he led from start t o finish.
