Super b uddy Larry Lane, otherwise known as Elmer Gant ry, presented Ti f with a 650 Triump h for his b irthday last we ek and there is som e question as to whether Larry wants to trade his old moun tain motor for this ob viou s winner. Taking second wa s Duane Spence , and the over 40 year old racer is out for ano th er season to defend his black p late against the youth of District 36 . In the race for other Black pl ate points was curren t point leader Allen Yarrow who took second in the 500 Expert to .J erry' Kole's D & D Yamaha. Kole will be out to pick up professional points towards an Expert pl ate, so th e former Fremont scrambl es cha mp is well on his way to a better career. Cliff Serve tti surprised a few two stroke types with a gre at win in th e Open Junior run, rid ing hi s we ll set up • Norton. It was hi s second w in of the wee kend and he should b e mak ing the Expert ranks just about night opening time.
