"Hey. don't start this thing yet! I'm not even close to my bike."
by Dick Wrigh t
STODDARD WELLS, CAL., Oct. 29,
1972 - It looks like Jim Fishback has
almost locked up the number one place
in tne 250 class in the desert as he
picked up another overall win. This
gives him five overall wins, and fourteen
first place fmishes in the 250 class.
The desert racing season is now
getting down to the nitty witty as there
BEll
are only five races lefi before the
number one riders in each class are
decided on each riders top 20 finishes
for the year. There is a batde royal in
the Open class as Art Knapp riding a
Husky out of Tracy's, seems to be in the
lead bu t there are four riders close
behind. Young Larry Jones of the
Desert Knights, A.C. Bakkin;-and Tom

First Novice to the bomb but, unfortunately, not the checkered. That honor went to Gary
Hymes (DKW).
