May 24, 1970- Th1s third race in a cash series left no doubt that a European scrambles is one of the most demanding of motocycle events. In hot pursuit, but unable to close the gap, was B111 Clucas on a 250cc C Z and Mike Maruniak on a 360 Mateo, B111 and Mike were handlebar to handlebar most of the way, but Mike just had a power edge and would pull away, As the race edged toward midway, B111 started pull1ng away, taIdng a second over all and a second in his class. Mike dropped back with a sore clutch hand, finishing fourth over all and first in his class. A.C. Bakken, on a fresh Hodaka SuPer Rat, sUpped by Mike Maruniak (Matco) and chased B111 Clucas (CZ) the entire distance. Bakken placed third over all and second in his class. Mike Hennessey (250 Husky) rode a smooth uneventful fourth overall and third in his class, while Heath Hibbard (125 Bur) was fifth over all, even though he crashed twice.
