Story and Pbotos by Don Ivan GILROY, Cal., Nov. 17 - With a week of winter rams trying to close- out Nor thern California's smooth track scrambles season, an overcast but warm ~unday brought together a limited turnout of K- 70 spec1al1sts at the usually popuJu Hall' s Rancb track ComlDg up from Monterey to pr ove the prowess of the F&M reed syste ms were the super-fast McGuire- tuned Hodakas of Tim Ronsse and John Brown. Ronsse took a run-away win in the lOOCc novice heat and mam event with Brown (an amateur) doing the same in the 10Q-200cc amateur-expert bout. Ron McGuire, (the Northern M half of F & M Enterprises) was keptbusyintroducing the reed system to District 36 racers and tun1nr for his newly-found customers and with excellent success.
