Powder Putt contender, l4-year-old
DEBBIE REON was enjoying herlastday
of TT racing at Debesa, before returning
to school at Hilltop Jr. HIgh, in Chula
Vista, Calif, Debra started riding motorcycles about 3 years ago and found It to
be a lot more fun !ban dolls and bas kept
It UP. About a year and a half ago, she
entered her first Powder Putt event and
was hooked. Her fatber keeps her Hodaka
tuned and Debbie twists the throttle Just
as far as It will go and sticks to the
course like her bike was on a rail. HoldIng number 5w plate trom last year and
second in Points this season, she doesn't
think she'll be able to unseat her Idol,
carol Chiara, from the top position tb1s
year.
When you talk with her you find
that sbe Is a very lovable young teenager
who, til to now, prefers motorcycles
to boys.

JOE PHILLIPSON is a native of California born in National City 25 years
11IO. He bas been racing for the last 6
years and is now employed as a cycle
salesman at Floyd Emde's downtown San
Diego store. Joe t1n1sbed fourth in point
staMlngs in Ibe lOOCc Experts last sea_
and Is considered to be a leading
cootender.
CHUCK WILSON of San Diegohasbeen
riding motorcycles since 1923 when at
the age of 15 he acquired a second-hand
Henderson. He has owned 30 bikes, more
or less, but his favorite mount was an
Indian Chief that he bought right after
W.W. II. His present cycle Is a HarleyDavidson XLH Sportster which he uses
for touring. His wife rides as a passenger but can also ride a bike. He bas no
club aff1l1ation but likes to tour tbe back
country accompanied by a few friends.
He and his wife have 3 married ch1ldren;
Ibe youngest, a .son, rides a 305 Hooda

the lOOCC Expert class in District 1/38
