'" (C ..; jj ~ lI> Q - E Z l&:l ..::l U >. u story and Pboto NOTICE: We ran our annual Hare Scrambles on November 15, 1967 up in Wilseyville, California. We would have given our perpetual trophy to the winner, V.A. Boocock (Greeves), except that last year's winner, Torsten Hallman and/or the Husqvama Distributor didn't send it back in time like they promised to. In fact, we haven't got it yet! by WUliam M. Clark Following up his clean sweep of combined Amateur/Expert indoor short track events at San Jose, Calif., the week before, Mike Yam proved his wins were no fluke as he repelled the efforts of Northern California"s best pro ciders in capturing his second straight 250cc Main Event victory on November 24. And he won the Trophy Dash to boot. In the photo, Bultaco-mounted Yarn (46z) prepares to overtake Lloyd Houchins (2Oy) as Bobby Self slides wide and Paul Bostrom (15y) tcies the inside groove. Phil Cancilla (Montesa) spilled on the first lap of the Semi, but won on the restart and wound up second in the Main Event. Novice class honors went to young Bruce Anderson from Saratoga, Calif. The talented Honda cider took the semi-main and followed through for first place in the final, ahead of Ken Boyer and Chal De Cecco, both on BultacD's. San Jose fans have been delighted by the indoor action, and the purse has gone over the guarantee at each of the events held so far.
