Froelich Upsets Morgan On the third lap. f\rgelich. who had been pushing Wright all the way, took over second spot on the back fire roads, and these positions remained the same until the last lap. Froelich had been moving up on Morgan and caught him in the rough, rocky section two miles from the finish. He then found the fast groove and came in for the win, with Morgan pulling in second. Frank Wheeler. was able to move up from the back of the pack to pass Wright a hundred yards from the finish, and came in third. -Lloyd Taylor. 11210 and a novice. gave it a good try and took a well-earned fifth. Roberts Does It Again By this time the course was really getting chopped up, looking like a twenty-foot-wide Path of Powder but this didn'r bother the Open Ex: perts. At the start there were about six riders fighting for the lead. but J.N. Roberts. on his Husky. was able to hold it on in fourth gear, and hit the turn in first spot. The rough course was made to order for him and with his endurance he was abl~ to stand on the pegs and turn it on in the choppy stuff to hold the lead for the finish. Larry Bergquist. on a BSA Victor, was second, and Bobby Ferro, on a Triumph. was third and took first Open Expert.
