The Expert Main was another
story. Early in the event sammy Tanner was starting to make his move.
As he and Cal Rayborn were coming
onto the front chute. Cal started to
high-side, he turned up the wick and
got it all sideways. At tbis point.
Tanner got into it and both of them
went down. After the dirt settled.
Cal's bike was hanging in the fence
(8 feel;. uP) and Cal was under Bammy's BSA. Both riders walked away.
It was the most spectacular crash
ever seen at Tulare. Meanwhile Al
Gunter passed sammy and Cal and
went on to wi n the Main Event. Johnny Isaacs took second and Jim Berry
