The trail bike s had their own co urse

Sunday for the P ros pe ctor' s hare scrambles. Th ey left abo ut 15 minutes before
the big bikes and ran three 15-mile
loops . The course was just great; it
was easy going all the way. Frank
Morgan was le adi ng until a few feet
from the finis h he crashed real ha rd
an d that put hi m third ove rall. Earl
Roesele r too k first with David Willlams
comi ng In second. The first girl i n was
Jan Dits on, finishi ng sixth. Ste ve
Hedgecoth was doin g well unt il he
crashed an d his gas tank came off, but
he tied the ' ta nk down and continued on
to finish 14th . Rosemarie Martino enjoyed t he day by sitting along t he trail
and watching the race , as he r machine
lost a screw from the primary case and
s he had to quit. The Pr os pect ors ce rtalnly know how to throw a run; it was

All For Now
Irvine is now c los e d down until
around November, and more than one
ride r is a little wistful about that, although they all feel that when the rainy
season comes , Irvin e will be the place
to rid e. We wish a sp rinkle r system
rea ll y capable of putting out gallons of
water could be s et up, because the circuit provides the real old-fashioned
kind of rough scrambles that is fast disappe ar ing from our local scene. All we
ne ed in that area is water to hold down
the dust.
