Velocette-mounted Ri chard Vin cen t turned in some fine rid ing but at the end it was Chu ck B erry , BSA in first place. Th e Open Novices w e r e also spectac ular . Clyde Cha r l es Von SChnase on a Tri umph did in the rest of th e gang showin g fine sty le , but H- D mounted Roger Sho enrock was ri ght there and resul t s would ha ve been different if Von Schn ase had made a mistake . He didn 't, Th e Open Expert s were all aboard Tri umphs and all we re good enough to have won . Ron K ru seman too k th at honor with smooth riding , beat ing out Dewayne Keet er , L or en Andr ess and Clyde Van Schnue makes 11 comeback. Ri ck James . A t ti mes, you coul d hav e lassoed the bunch of them with a 6 foot l oop. Ri ch J ames, who did su ch a good job in th e rough at th e I r vi ne Motocross, l ed th e pack a coup le of time s, especi ally on the starts , but they alway s got h i m sooner or l ater.
