Di ck was th e previous winner of the event at Willow Spri n gs . Third place over-all went to #33 . Walt F ulton III on a little 25 0cc Suzuki. walt continuall y gave the front runners competiti on throughout the entire event. The final eve nt o f th e day , fo r 350 , 500cc open class Grand Pri x machines. was won by #58 , Bill Manl ey on his 650 BSA . followed by #11, Ron Grant on a 350 Honda. Ron won over-all in th e heat race but was only able to tak e second over- all and first i n cl ass in t he main event. Clos ely followin g Ron was Don Vesco from San Di e go on a G50 Matchles s , finishing third ov er-all and fi rst in c l ass . Fourth over-all and second in c l ass was Tom Hoyt f rom San Di ego on a Triumph. This was pr obably one of the most interesting event s of th e day .
