FLAT TRACK AMERICAN FL AT TRACK CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND 13/AUGUST 10, 2019 CAL EXPO FAIR/SACRAMENTO, CALIFORNIA P92 AFT Twins podium. Bronson Bau- man was able to get by Smith on the last lap with Vanderkooi right behind. Sammy Halbert was alone another six seconds behind. Brandon Price (Roof-Systems of Dallas, TX/DPC Racing, Indian FTR750) was in eighth, 10 sec- onds ahead of Brandon Robinson. Ronnie Jones (Estenson Racing/ Alpinestars, Yamaha MT-07) held off Jake Johnson (Estenson Racing/ Monster Energy, Yamaha MT-07) and Jay Maloney (Indian of Char- lotte/JMC, Indian FTR750) for 10th. AFT SINGLES The 15-lap AFT Singles main event, once again, proved to be a heart-stopper. Shayna Texter (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing/Roof- Systems of Dallas, TX, KTM 450 SX-F) got the holeshot, but Mikey Rush (RMR Honda/Red Rider Rewards, Honda CRF450R) led the first lap. Texter held second with Dallas Daniels (Estenson Racing/Mon- ster Energy, Yamaha YZ450F), Kevin Stollings (Roof-Systems of Dallas, TX/Motion Pro, Honda CRF450R), Tristan Avery (Waters Autobody Racing/Ron Ayers, Honda CRF450R), Ryan Wells (Estenson Racing/Monster En- ergy, Yamaha YZ450F) and Max Whale (Kawasaki Motors/Shoei Australia, Kawasaki KX450) all looking for room to the front. As wild as the race was, there were only two "official" leaders, IIIMY OWN RACE: 1 JARED MEES 1ST AFT TWINS "We just broke away. At the end, the lappers started messing with me," said Mees. "We were coming up on them so fast. They would put the blue flag out right as we were on them. I was a li le hesitant on what to do there. I didn't re- ally slow up, but I think Briar was running me down a li le bit. He was pushing hard, and I was just easing off in there. We have to win these races to get back in the points. We have six races to go. I need to put points on him at every race. I don't think we are out of it, especially with all the miles. It's been an up and down year. It seems like I have a great race, and then I have a disaster. It is definitely a year that is challenging for me to stay hungry. I'm staying hungry." 14 BRIAR BAUMAN 2ND AFT TWIN "At the end, I thought I had a shot at Jared when I saw how close I got between one and two. I didn't know what to do because his bike was pre y stout today, as usual," said Bauman. "I got close but just not close enough, unfortunately. I got a decent start. I was kind of shuffled between second and third for a couple of laps. Jared was trying to plug it up a li le bit to keep a few more guys involved. I wasn't really into that. I just went around him on the outside a few mes. I dropped Davis Fisher (67) and Bronson Bauman fought for the final spot on the podium. Fisher won out for his first career podium.
