Roczen started just behind Bloss, and Baggett was just behind Roczen. Webb led the first half of the moto until Roczen finally found his way through the frontrunners to grab second, then wasted no time whatsoever going by Webb. Once in the lead, Roczen was gone. After spending more than half the race trying to find a way around Anderson, Tomac finally made the pass with five laps to go, then set out after Webb, Bogle, and the pair of Monster Energy Yamahas ridden by Justin Barcia and Dean Ferris. Savatgy got the holeshot to start the second moto over Webb, while Musquin tangled with Baggett just after the first turn and went down hard. Webb took the early lead right away, while Savatgy fended off the advances of Barcia, Anderson, Osborne, Tomac and Benny Bloss, who has missed all of 2019 up to this point after having knee surgery prior to the sea- NUMBERS GAME The two men tied atop the 2019 450MX National Moto- cross Championship points standings, Eli Tomac and Ken Roczen, each have two 450MX National Championships under their belts. And this battle could assert one over the other in terms of overall 450MX suc- cess as well, as Tomac now has 19 career 450cc MX overall wins, and Roczen is just behind him with 17, despite missing all of 2017 and racing at less than 100-percent for much of the 2018 series. NO TRUE TEAMMATES Teammates or not, moto- cross is an individual sport, and Monster Energy/Ya- malube/Star Racing Yamaha teammates Dylan Ferrandis and Justin Cooper demon- strated this point in the first 250MX moto at High Point. Cooper was under pressure from Ferrandis when Ferrandis looked as if he punted Cooper off the track, but Ferrandis ex- plained the incident afterward. "You know, I felt I was faster," Ferrandis said. "I just went to the outside of him, and then I was on the inside [in the next corner], and I expected him to change his line because I expected he'd feel I was there, but we came to the same line, and I was inside, so I pushed Briefly... Adam Cianciarulo chalked up his fourth straight overall win in the 250MX class.
