NATIONAL HARE & HOUND SERIES OPENER IN JEOPARDY
T
he upcoming opening round
of the 2019 AMA National Hare
and Hound Championship Series
has been thrown into uncertainty
due to the current government
shutdown. The Desert M.C. Win-
ter Classic, slated to take place
January 26-27, might have to be
rescheduled if paperwork from
the BLM cannot be completed.
The following was posted on
the series Facebook page:
"Update on round one: With
the government shutdown still in
effect, our host club Desert M.C.
may or may not receive the per-
mits needed from the BLM to host
the event. If they do not receive
the necessary permits, their event
must be rescheduled. If they are
able to get the permit, then it's
game on. We will keep everyone
updated as we learn more this
week." CN
AMA PRO MOTOCROSS: GLEN HELEN OUT, PALA IN
E
ver since the 2019 Lucas Oil
Pro Motocross Champion-
ship schedule came out, there
has been TBA (to be announced)
next to the date usually reserved
for Glen Helen Raceway in San
Bernardino, California. That TBA
has finally been replaced by the
announcement that the May
25 date, Memorial Weekend,
will be filled by Fox Raceway in
Pala, California. Evidently, MX
Sports and Glen Helen Raceway
couldn't come to terms and, as
a result, Glen Helen is out and
Pala is in.
Fox Raceway (formerly called
Pala Raceway) has held two AMA
Pro Nationals in the past (2010
and 2011).
Organizers 2X Promotions,
which also produces the Mam-
moth Motocross, the Road to
Mammoth Series, and the FMF
California Classic, will spearhead
the promotional efforts surround-
ing the Pala National. CN
