In Tennessee; I won three of the
first four rounds. But, when we
went to Texas I got fourth.
What was up in Texas?
I've had decent rides in Texas
before, but the last couple of
years, have been not so good. It's
more open terrain, it's flat, there's
no traction, and a four-stroke
works pretty well in those conditions, there's no way around that.
Mike [Lafferty] and Nick [Fahringer] were on it at that race.
Then you hurt your hand before the Arkansas round.
Yeah, I tore the ligament in
my wrist riding a family fun ride
a week before the national. It
was terribly painful. I tried getting
therapy and cortisone shots; I did
as much as I could do. Actually,
All Sport Dynamic helped me out
by making a brace for me, and it
helped a lot, but at the same time
there just wasn't enough strength
there, it hurt pretty bad and I just
couldn't hold on. I know I would
have for sure done better at that
race then what I did, but it is what
it is.
You ended up with a seventh at that race and things
were looking pretty bad as far
as the championship was concerned.
Yeah, but we just kept working. Over the next few weeks
my wrist steadily got better and
better, and by the time Wyoming
came around it didn't really hurt
any more. On some impacts, it
