MOTOCROSS LUCAS OIL AMA PRO MOTOCROSS CHAMPIONSHIPS ROUND 5 / JUNE 23, 2018 MUDDY CREEK RACEWAY / BLOUNTVILLE, TENNESSEE P70 behind Tomac's 1-3. Musquin ended up third with a 5-1. Then came Roczen (3-4) and Baggett (4-5). With his fifth overall win out of the five races run so far in 2018, Tomac extended his points lead to 32 over Musquin, while Barcia trails Musquin by 26 as the series heads to the sand of South- wick next weekend. 250MX Plessinger got a perfect start at the beginning of moto one, grab- bing the holeshot, but he promptly washed the front and crashed only four turns into the race, remounting outside the top 10. Alex Martin (TLD/Red Bull KTM) took over the lead with his brother Jeremy on his tail. It took Jeremy Martin a few laps to get by Alex for the lead, but he made a pass stick just after Alex cased a big uphill triple. From there, Jeremy led the rest of the race while Alex crashed out of second a handful of laps later. Jeremy took the win over Plessinger's teammate Justin Coo- per, Shane McElrath (TLD/Red Bull KTM), RJ Hampshire (Geico Honda), and Monster Energy/Pro Circuit Kawasaki's Austin races ago. "I had two good starts and was running at the front in both mo- tos," he said. "Overall, I rode well. My hand is still a problem, though. I have about 15 minutes in me before I lose the feeling in it. When that happens, I get whiskey throttle and my hand blows off the handlebars." HILL TO FINISH IT OUT It's official; the Autotrader/Yoshimu- ra/Suzuki Team says that Justin Hill will finish out the season in the 450MX class. Hill rode the first three rounds in the 250MX class and is now already 13th in points in the 450MX class. Briefly... Roczen leads Tomac in the first moto but didn't quite have the pace to stay out front. He just missed out finishing on the podium.
