iii My Own Race:
40 CHASE SEXTON 3RD 250MX (8-4)
Chase Sexton grabbed an unlikely podium with an 8-4 score in Tennessee. "It
feels good," Sexton said. "I had four bad rounds coming up to this and I was
just like, 'I have to turn this around here.' I'm happy to get on the podium. I wish
I would have got better starts today. I was coming from 15th every moto. But I'm
happy with third overall."
26 ALEX MARTIN 4TH 250MX (12-3)
Alex Martin was his own worst enemy at Muddy Creek. He was running second
to his brother Jeremy in moto one when he went down pretty hard on a rutted
straightaway, and then he crashed out of the lead in moto two when rear of his
bike kicked wildly. What should've been an overall win ended up being fourth
place with a 12-3 score. "Ahhh! I feel like I just don't have any luck today!" Martin
said. "The last couple of weekends I can't stay off the ground. First moto, riding
great. I didn't ride all week because my knee was hurting from the High Point
crash. I just don't understand. It was rough. I felt like I had good speed all day
and I felt good on the bike. Led laps, led a lot of laps today and that second moto
was mine. Dylan [Ferrandis] was pressuring me the whole time. Just came in a
little too hot after the finish line with two laps to go. I thought I had it in the bag
and as soon as you think that it was like, it was over. I was flying, feet in the air."
