FLAT TRACK AMERICAN FLAT TRACK SERIES ROUND 9 / JUNE 16, 2018 REMINGTON PARK / OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLAHOMA P84 Kolby Carlile (Estenson Racing Yamaha YZ450F) and Jesse Janisch (Roof Systems Yamaha YZ450F) were dueling over fourth with Whale and Cory Texter hanging on, too. Janisch fell victim to a mechanical problem on lap 10, leaving Carlile, Whale and Cory Texter in as tight a race for fourth as the three leaders were having for first. Bromley held the lead at the white flag, but appeared to be vulnerable to a draft pass at the finish line. Texter and Wells were looking to position themselves for the final push when Wells caught a rut and bounced off of Shayna. The contact ruined both riders' shot at the win. Wells was able to hold onto second by 0.12 of a second. A little over three sec- fought it out for second. AFT Singles points leader Dan Bromley (KTM North America/Bromley Motors- ports KTM 450 SX-F) wasn't able to take advantage of his front-row start and was back in seventh place, but quickly came to the front. "At the start I was way back in the pack. I couldn't see anything coming off the front straightaway," said Bromley. "But I knew if I put my head down and just held it wide open around the outside I could catch up to them. Thankfully enough, everyone was riding down low, and I found a real nice line up around the top." Bromley and Shayna Texter teamed up to run Wells down and a three-rider battle was on. Defending AFT Singles champion Mees won by a mile. Henry Wiles (17) was the closest rider to Mees at the finish, but, as you can see, he wasn't that close.
