qualified for the main event via a
fifth-place finish in semi two riding
a Rockstar Energy Leatt/Maxxis/
FMF/Rekluse Husqvarna FC 450.
Sipes was certainly competitive, as
he threatened to crack the top five
in the main event, but a solo crash
put him back in the field. However,
Sipes managed to fight his way
back to 11th, one spot ahead of
defending AFT Singles Champion
Kolby Carlile.
SINGLES NOTABLES
Ryan Sipes wasn't the only notable
visitor in the Singles class. Super-
bike racer Jake Lewis, rising Aus-
tralian star Max Whale and young
road racer-turned-flat tracker Jay
Newton all signed up to do battle
and all of them showed plenty
of potential throughout the day.
