lap, Anderson's lap times climbed as he was content
with second. He cruised in to the finish 16 seconds
behind Tomac, but 33 seconds in front of Musquin in
third. Then came Barcia, Peick, Benny Bloss, Phil Ni-
coletti, Roczen and Baggett. Baggett had gone down
on the opening lap and collected a myriad of riders,
including Roczen who subsequently had to pit, but
they both came through from the back of the pack to
finish inside the top 10.
"I just saw him there and it was game time," Tomac
said of Anderson. "There was only one thing I could do
and that was push as hard as I could and go forward. I
had some really good lines at the end of the race and
just had an awesome flow."
Tomac now leads the points by 14 over Musquin as
the series heads to Colorado this coming weekend for
the Thunder Valley MX National in Lakewood.
did anyone else," Anderson said. "I definitely
had very few days and I had a new bike, too,
that we had to get going. I think we were a little
behind as far as bike setup; even on press
day we were testing suspension and trying to
get the chassis better. And I think we went in
the right direction from the first to the second
moto—as you can tell the motor is fine, it rips—
just working on the chassis a little bit, trying to
get it a little better."
NOT TO WORRY
Jason Anderson doesn't seem too concerned
that Eli Tomac is ahead on points after two
rounds. "We're behind in points right now, but
at the same time I feel like if I keep getting good
starts and keep riding really good we have a
good shot at battling for wins like we did today."
Briefly...
Justin Barcia (51) and Weston Peick (34) both had
solid rides, but both wanted more.
