SUPERCROSS
2018 MONSTER ENERGY AMA SUPERCROSS, AN FIM WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP
ROUND 17 / MAY 5, 2018
SAM BOYD STADIUM / LAS VEGAS, NEVADA
P58
sistency. He showed that speed
again in Las Vegas, leading it
from start to finish despite feel-
ing heavy pressure by Musquin
the whole way. Every time Mus-
quin attacked, Tomac countered
and ended up taking the win four
seconds ahead of the KTM rider.
On a slick, hard-pack track,
Tomac rode well, hardly putting
a knobby wrong on the Nevada
surface, though he did nearly
get off hard once. "I had a re-
ally big moment in the rhythm, I
shouldn't have rode it out, but I
did."
Musquin, the only rider left
who had a shot at the champi-
onship, did what he had to do
and that was to finish ahead of
Anderson, but a win would've
been better, though it would
not have made a different in the
championship.
Eli Tomac (3) won his eighth main event of the
year, leading it from start to finish.
