halfway point, Robinson took over fourth
with a shot at the podium on his mind.
Robinson was able to catch Cose as
the laps wore down, but despite Robin-
son's efforts, Cose was able to hold on
for his first podium finish. "I didn't realize
how close he was," said Cose. "I was
focused on Briar to see where he would
make mistakes, so I could move forward.
My main focus was going forward," said
Cose. "I wanted to finish how we started
and get on the box. We did it."
Wiles was able to make a last-lap, last-
turn pass on Shoemaker for fifth. Sammy
Halbert (Harley-Davidson Motor Com-
pany/Vance & Hines, Harley-Davidson
XG750R) was just a tick back in seventh
after an inspired ride from the third row.
There was close racing in the Singles main.
Halbert had been the cause of one of the
many red flags in his heat race and was
forced to come from the back the rest of
the night.
Johnny Lewis (Richie Morris Racing/
KE Motorsports, Indian Scout FTR750)
was right on Halbert's rear wheel. Former
Canadian National Champion, Doug Law-
rence (American Harley-Davidson/Town
Moto) brought the first Harley-Davidson
XR750 home in ninth with last year's
Texas winner Jeffrey Carver on another
XR750, holding off the factory Harley-
Davidson XG750R of Jarod Vanderkooi
for 10th.
AFT SINGLES
Andrew Luker (Keeran Racing/MyCars.
com, Kawasaki KX450F) nailed the hole-
shot in the 15-lap AFT Singles main event,
but he couldn't cut the low line of Morgen
