Rick Johnson won the Dallas Supercross and was pictured
on the cover 30 years ago, along with Bubba Shobert leading
Doug Polen in England at the Eurolantic Challenge… The
Sacramento Mile opened the 1988 GNC season and Bubba
Shobert edged out Scott Parker for the win… Italy's Marco
Lucchinelli, riding a Ducati 851S, won the opening round of the
World Superbike Series at Donington Park… Joel Albrecht was
the big winner at the NMA World Mini GP in Las Vegas.
We celebrated "D-Day" 20 years ago with weekend winners Mick
Doohan (Malaysian GP), Miguel Duhamel (Laguna Seca AMA
Superbike) and John Dowd (Charlotte Supercross) who were all
