won the second main event after a
late-race pass on teammate Austin
Forkner. And then he was battling
for the lead with Jeremy Martin in
the final main event when he went
over the bars in the whoops. "Just
get a good start again," Davalos
said of his plan for the third main
event, after winning the second. "I
didn't get the best start, but I was
able to make pretty good, quick
passes in the beginning. The track
is really slick. It's actually kind of
sketchy. The whoops are torn up.
Man, the first main event, I'm so
bummed. I was leading and I just
threw it away by myself. I really, re-
ally want to get another good start
and win again." Davalos ended up
going 8-1-17 for eighth overall. It
was his 90th career 250cc main-
event start.
FRIESE FROZEN
Motoconcepts/SmarTop Honda's
Vince Friese was disqualified from
the second main event in Atlanta
after he was forced to switch bikes
following the first main event. The
motorcycle he brought out to race
was not sent through tech inspec-
tion prior to the race, and as such
he was racing an illegal motorcycle.
He could've raced the final main
event on his original motorcycle,
under the rules, but he opted not to.
SEELY UPDATE
Honda's Cole Seely underwent
surgery on his pelvis/tailbone,
which he fractured in multiple places
in a scary get-off in Tampa a week
prior to the Atlanta Supercross. The
timeline for his recovery hasn't been
set, but it's likely to be a long one.
He's staying in Florida until things
