You can also hit Laconia, New Hampshire for
one of the oldest bike events in the world. The
Laconia rally goes back to June 1916. That's
when a few hundred riders gathered at Weirs
Beach to party. Several years later, the event
was officially recognized by the Federation of
American Motorcyclists as part of its annual
Gypsy Tour.

Three weeks after Daytona, the Western US
opens its riding season with the Laughlin River
Run in southern Nevada. Thousands of motor-
cyclists swoop into town from Nevada, Arizona,
California, and other parts west. Bike shows,
poker runs, and casinos are among the fun to be
had here along the Nevada-Arizona border. Take
a run out to Oatman for a little local history while
you're here.
